"Duty to Rescue"

'The State of Florida vs. Michael Mitchell' in 2005 was more than a legal matter to me -- it was a declaration of war. And now that history has been written, it is obvious that nothing less than taking up arms would have stopped the killing of Terri Schiavo.

My son paid a terrible price for attempting to stop it. He turned 21 in a cold and lonely Clear Water jail cell where in his bitterness and his desperation, he prayed that God would send a storm to where he was. Amazingly, Hurricane Michael will rise from the Atlantic in the year 2012 -- that's less than two years away.

Where do you want to be on 'judgment day'?

Spouses have a duty to rescue each other in all U.S. jurisdictions.[9] Contrary to common law, eight states have laws requiring people to help strangers in peril: Florida,[statute verification needed] Massachusetts,[10] Minnesota,[10] Ohio,[statute verification needed] Rhode Island,[10] Vermont,[10] Washington,[10] and Wisconsin.[statute verification needed] These laws are also referred to as Good Samaritan laws, despite their difference from laws of the same name that protect individuals that try to help another person.[1] These laws are rarely applied, and are generally ignored by citizens and lawmakers.[1] See it here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duty_to_rescue
