I was just watching Avengers 2 for the umpteenth time
because I can’t just walk past the TV if it’s on, no matter who’s watching it.
There are too many exhilarating parts to give them all justice! The special
effects are unsurpassable for realism and each actor in their own right should
get some kind of award, (even if I have to make one up myself!).
My most heart-pumping scene: Tony Stark, played by Robert
Downey Jr., trashes his Iron Man suit in a confrontation with an
inter-dimensional portal-opening mechanism on the roof of his skyscraper. He
sets down on his penthouse floor to get another suit, which his electronic butler
says is not 'quite ready for action'; worse, the arch-villain,
Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, has taken over his building.
When Loki grabs him by the neck, Tony Stark displays a
calmness few could do as well as Robert Downey Jr., choking out the words,
“Deploy! Now would be a good time, Jarvis!” He gets one word out, “Deploy!” a
couple more times as he goes crashing through the glass because he is thrown
out the window by Loki. He demonstrates his confidence in that one word, 'deploy',
by assuming the position of a skydiver as he hurtles to the ground.
While the evil Loki is leaning over to watch, a bullet
shaped projectile the size of an end table suddenly thunders past him, knocking
him over on its way out the window, and makes a jet propelled b-line for Tony,
who is still holding his arms and legs out in position. The torpedo opens up
and gently attaches to his wrists and ankles and thus covers his whole body
just in time to prevent him from hitting the ground… the thrusters come on and
Tony Stark is once again the battle ready Iron Man!
Dear friends, there is a name that we have been
given, a name that is above every other name in heaven and on earth. There is
no other name by which we must be saved. At the sound of this name, angels
deploy and race to the rescue! At the sound of this name the enemy falls back
helpless! At the sound of this name we are saved from every kind of trouble
known to man. At the sound of this name the earth rejoices and sings for joy.
Hallelujah! Call on the name of Jesus in your hardest and most difficult time,
dear friend, and be saved in Jesus’ name! Hallelujah!
